PT Timor official questioned
JAKARTA: A commissioner of PT Timor Putra Nasional, a company awarded controversial tax breaks to manufacture a national car, was questioned at the Attorney General's Office on Monday.
The commissioner, Effendi Lubis, arrived at the Attorney General's Office at 9 a.m. in a blue Timor sedan. He was accompanied by his lawyer, Soejono.
He was questioned as a witness in connection with the national car project, which has been at the center of allegations of nepotism and collusion. The company was led by Hutomo Mandala Putra, the youngest son of former president Soeharto.
Effendi was also questioned about Rp 3 trillion in taxes which the company has failed to pay, Antara reported.
