PT Timah's Tin Ore Production Surges 75% in First Half of 2026
State-owned tin miner PT Timah (Persero) Tbk recorded revenue of Rp 10.42 trillion in the first half of 2026, a 247% surge compared to Rp 4.22 trillion in the same period last year. The growth was driven by an increase in sales volume and a higher average selling price for tin metal.
President Director Restu Widiyantoro explained that the achievement was the result of the company’s operational and business transformation. He emphasised that increased productivity and cost management were the main factors driving the financial performance.
‘Our performance in the first half of 2026 shows that the operational and business transformation strategy we implemented has been able to generate quality growth amidst global industry dynamics,’ he said in an official statement on Wednesday (29/7/2026).
On the operational side, the company’s tin ore production reached 12,232 tonnes, a 75% increase from 6,997 tonnes in the first half of 2025. The production increase was driven by productivity optimisation and the addition of operational units at several production sites, including Bucket Dredges and Suction Dredges.
In line with this, refined tin production rose 58% to 10,865 metric tonnes. Meanwhile, sales volume of tin metal soared 85% to 10,984 metric tonnes, supported by optimal inventory management to meet global market demand.
The company also recorded an average selling price of US$49,794 per metric tonne, a 52% increase from US$32,816 per metric tonne in the same period last year. Thanks to this operational performance, PT Timah posted a net profit of Rp 2.71 trillion, equivalent to 169% of the 2026 annual net profit target of Rp 1.61 trillion.
‘Going forward, the company will continue to strengthen its business fundamentals through sustainable exploration activities, enhanced mining governance, and increased operational efficiency to ensure sustainable growth and long-term value creation for shareholders and all stakeholders,’ he concluded.
