PT Timah Empowers 10,289 MSMEs to Scale Up

PT Timah (Persero) Tbk is empowering and mentoring 10,289 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the company’s operational areas to support the ‘MSME Scale Up’ initiative, enabling them to compete and market products in the global market.

“Currently, 56 partner MSMEs have successfully scaled up within the company’s operational areas,” said Rahmat Taufik, Head of CSR at PT Timah (Persero) Tbk, in Pangkalpinang on Saturday.

He stated that PT Timah (Persero) Tbk, through its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Business Funding Programme (PUMK), has supported the development of 10,289 MSMEs across the provinces of Bangka Belitung, Riau, and Riau Islands. The goal is to help these entrepreneurs progress to higher business levels to boost the economy and family welfare.

“Through PUMK, we provide business capital assistance, training, mentoring, and product promotion across various sectors, including trade, industry, services, fisheries, livestock, agriculture, plantations, cooperatives, and creative industries,” he said.

He noted that PT Timah (Persero) Tbk’s capital assistance is an effort by the company to ensure MSME players can easily access flexible business funds. Additionally, MSME training is provided to improve technical and management expertise.

“This programme is one of PT Timah’s efforts to encourage community economic growth while strengthening the capacity of MSME players so they are able to expand and scale up,” he added.

Anggi Siahaan, Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah (Persero) Tbk, stated that the PUMK programme is part of the company’s commitment to supporting the economic strengthening of communities within its operational areas.

“PT Timah continues to strive to support MSME growth through sustainable funding and mentoring programmes. MSMEs play a vital role in driving the community economy, and therefore need support to become increasingly developed and independent,” she said.
