PT Telkom working on major networks

JAKARTA (JP): The East Jakarta office of PT Telkom, the state-
owned telecommunications company, announced yesterday that the
office is currently working on major networks by reinstalling
primary telephone cables in several areas of the mayoralty.

A spokesman for the office said telephone lines beginning with
820, 821 and 823 might be disrupted for a few days because of the
work.

"But we will do our best to ensure that these telephone lines
will not be totally out of order," he said, adding that the
telephone connections in the affected areas are expected to be
back to normal by the first week of this month.

He said customers whose telephone lines might still be
disrupted after work on the cables is completed could raise
complaints to PT Telkom's East Jakarta office, or just dial 117.

The areas affected are the Narogong Indah housing complex, the
Pondok Hijau Permai housing complex, Jl. Raya Pengasinan and part
of Jl. Pramuka Bekasi. (bas)
