PT SMI Records Financing Commitments Reaching Rp275 Trillion by 2025
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (SMI) has recorded financing commitments amounting to Rp275 trillion over the period from 2009 to 2025, with an accumulated project value reaching Rp1.183 trillion. “Our support has had an impact on absorbing approximately 10.9 million workers,” said PT SMI President Director Reynaldi Hermansjah at the PT SMI 2026 Symposium in Jakarta on Wednesday. In addition to creating jobs, this financing has also contributed around 0.5 per cent to the national gross domestic product (GDP). In detail, the economic impact distribution from PT SMI’s financing includes Java at 29 per cent, Sumatra at 21.9 per cent, Kalimantan at 20.2 per cent, Maluku and Papua at 16 per cent, Sulawesi at 7.4 per cent, and Bali and Nusa Tenggara at 5.5 per cent. This approach is strengthened through research-based financing developed by the SMI Institute. Furthermore, Reynaldi stated that infrastructure funding needs for the 2025-2029 period remain very substantial. Based on the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029, infrastructure investment requirements are estimated to reach US$625 billion to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth. “However, the government’s revenue capacity can only meet about 40 per cent of the total needs,” he said.
