PT SMI Disburses Rp 950 Billion Credit to Indika Energy Subsidiaries
PT Sarana Multi Infrastumnastructure (Persero) has disbursed Rp 950 billion in Sharia financing to PT Indika Empat Mitra Surya (IEMS) and PT Empat Mitra Indika Cahaya (EMIC), subsidiaries of the Indika Energy Group. This financing is intended to support the development of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) projects in various locations across Indonesia.
“Sharia financing instruments can serve as a competitive solution to accelerate the adoption of solar power plants within the rapidly growing commercial and industrial market segments,” stated Sylvi J. Gani, Director of Financing and Investment at PT SMI, in an official statement on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
The financing utilises the Musyarakah Mutanaqisah (MMq) Line Facility scheme for the Sharia refinancing of solar power projects. These projects will be leased to partners, offtakers, and end-users within the commercial and industrial (C&I) segments across various regions in Indonesia.
According to Sylvi, this collaboration marks the expansion of the strategic relationship between PT SMI and the Indika Energy Group, while simultaneously strengthening the State-Owned Enterprise’s Sharia financing portfolio within the electricity infrastructure sector, specifically focusing on new and renewable energy.
She also noted that the partnership reflects PT SMI’s increasingly active role in providing innovative financing solutions to support the acceleration of the energy transition. Yovie Priadi, Director of PT IEMS and PT EMIC, described the financing from PT SMI as a vital foundation for accelerating the expansion of Indika Energy Group’s solar projects. He noted that PT SMI’s financial support will bolster the company’s ability to expand solar services without requiring upfront investment from customers, allowing more industrial players to transition to clean energy more quickly and efficiently.
Through this financing scheme, IEMS and EMIC can expand the scope of solar power plant construction and leasing to C&I segment customers without burdening end-users with initial capital expenditures. This model is considered aligned with national efforts to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the national energy mix while promoting energy cost efficiency for businesses.
Furthermore, the collaboration reinforces PT SMI’s role as the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) Country Platform Manager in providing innovative green financing solutions. As of March 2026, PT SMI has disbursed up to Rp 27.6 trillion for renewable energy projects.
The signing of the Financing Agreement was conducted by the Director of Financing and Investment of PT SMI, Sylvi J. Gani, alongside the Director of PT IEMS and PT EMIC, Yovie Priadi, on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at the PT SMI Office, Sahid Sudirman Center, Jakarta.
