PT Pupuk Kaltim-Mentored UMKM Wins TOP 50 Cooperatives and SME Export Award 2026
A small and medium-sized enterprise (UMKM) supported by PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim), Sekatup Sari Indonesia, has won the TOP 50 Cooperatives & SME Export Award 2026 with GREAT status in the Food and Beverage and Apparel categories.
The event, organised by Peluang Media Group as a result of collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Ministry of SMEs, is an appreciation initiative for cooperatives and export-oriented SME operators who have successfully penetrated global markets.
The award achievement demonstrates that Sekatup Sari Indonesia possesses competitive advantages in terms of management, product competitiveness, and export capacity in the food sector and creative derivative products.
The enterprise’s flagship products include herbal gaharu tea and various snacks that have gained recognition for their quality, taste, and competitive packaging standards.
This achievement, according to the company, is the result of comprehensive mentoring that Pupuk Kaltim has been implementing to boost competitiveness and self-sufficiency of local SMEs, particularly in Bontang City, East Kalimantan.
Pupuk Kaltim does not treat SME mentoring as a temporary programme, but rather as a long-term commitment to building community economic independence.
“Therefore, mentored SMEs are not only encouraged to be productive at the local level, but also capable of penetrating local or export markets,” said Rezha in a press release received by Kompas.com on Friday (27 February 2026).
Pupuk Kaltim consistently continues to develop various empowerment programmes to strengthen competitiveness and an entrepreneurial mindset based on sustainability.
Rezha stated that the success of mentoring is assessed not only by total revenue achieved, but also by management and market opportunity utilisation, as well as the ability to maintain quality consistency.
“Sekatup Sari Indonesia’s success is one manifestation of this commitment. With continuous mentoring, it will certainly be able to produce local SMEs ready to compete in global markets,” he said.
In line with this sentiment, Pupuk Kaltim Corporate Secretary Anggono Wijaya also appreciated the achievement attained by Sekatup Sari Indonesia.
Anggono believes that support for SME development is part of an integrated community empowerment strategy aligned with the company’s operations.
“Pupuk Kaltim is highly committed to encouraging local SMEs to upgrade and go international. We want business operators in Bontang City and surrounding areas not only to be local players, but also capable of penetrating national and even international markets,” said Anggono.
