PT Pos Indonesia Overhaul: House Commission VI Member Urges Digital Transformation
A member of House Commission VI, Doni Akbar, is urging PT Pos Indonesia to swiftly carry out a digital transformation and service integration. Doni recommended that PT Pos Indonesia strengthen its logistics and marketplace segments. He stated that improvements at PT Pos Indonesia can be achieved by optimising the utilisation of its national network and assets, as the network is still considered fragmented and needs to be unified under a single, efficient managerial channel. He said the future success of PT Pos Indonesia depends heavily on its strategy and governance capability to convert its massive physical network into a digital logistics ecosystem that can compete head-to-head with increasingly diverse private businesses. “PT Pos Indonesia has advantages in facilities and infrastructure that are almost unmatched by other private enterprises,” Doni told reporters on Thursday (25/6/2026). Doni stressed that PT Pos Indonesia cannot rely solely on its long history or infrastructural advantages. According to him, a major leap in governance is needed so that the planned digital transformation does not become mere jargon and plans. Doni reminded that the roadmap must be implementable so it can genuinely reduce national logistics costs in real terms and compete with private logistics businesses. “The effectiveness of PT Pos Indonesia can be measured by two main indicators: how quickly it can consolidate its services for the public, and how resiliently it stands as an independent corporation in a market that shows no mercy to state-owned enterprises that are slow to transform,” said the Golkar Party politician.
