PT PII Provides First-Ever Guarantee for Waste Management Project at Legok Nangka TPPASR
Jakarta – A Special Mission Vehicle of the Ministry of Finance, PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero), known as PT PII, has provided a guarantee for a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in the waste sector, specifically the Legok Nangka Regional Waste Processing and Final Disposal Site (TPPASR) in West Java. This was executed through the signing of the TPPASR Legok Nangka PPP Cooperation Agreement between the West Java Provincial Government and PT Jabar Environmental Solution (JES). The event coincided with the signing of a Guarantee Agreement between PT PII and PT JES as the executing business entity, followed by the handover of a Recourse Agreement from the West Java Provincial Government to PT PII, held in Indramayu Regency, West Java. Acting President Director of PT PII, Andre Permana, stated that the waste management project, covering the areas of Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, Garut Regency, and Sumedang Regency, has a capacity of up to 2,131 tonnes per day. Andre acknowledged that this is the first PPP project guaranteed by PT PII in the waste sector, and it is part of the national effort to address the waste management crisis, which has long posed a multidimensional challenge for Indonesia. “The guarantee provided by PT PII is a strategic step to enhance investment certainty and strengthen the project’s bankability,” Andre said in a statement on Friday, 5 June 2026. He believes this will attract private sector participation in developing sustainable waste management infrastructure, especially by involving investors and potential international lenders. Andre stressed that PT PII’s support as a Special Mission Vehicle of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance for this waste sector project reflects a commitment to supporting National Strategic Projects, while expanding support for infrastructure sectors that deliver a direct impact to the community. “The guarantee for the Legok Nangka Regional TPPASR is a significant achievement for PT PII. Besides being the first PPP project we have guaranteed in 2026, this project is also the first waste sector project in PT PII’s guarantee portfolio,” said Andre. “It is hoped this project will provide significant benefits for the environment, the community, and the regional economy, through the reduction of waste accumulation, improvement in the quality of waste management services, and the creation of added value from converting waste into energy,” he concluded.
