PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) (PT PII) has commenced the 2026 PIIdaya MSME Business Incubation Programme in Situbondo through a kick-off event held on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at the Situbondo Regency Office of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade. A total of 15 selected MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) players are participating in a series of training and mentoring sessions designed to increase business capacity, strengthen business management, and expand market access and networks.

The PIIdaya MSME Situbandum programme targets MSME entrepreneurs in East Java, specifically in areas surrounding the Probolinggo–Banyuwangi Toll Road Project, which receives guarantee support from PT PII. Through this programme, PT PII aims to strengthen the capacity of local entrepreneurs to develop their businesses and capitalise on economic opportunities within the region.

In its implementation, PT PII is working alongside the Umar Usman Business Campus and collaborating with the Situbondo Regency Office of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade. The programme provides not only training but also intensive mentoring to help participants understand business conditions, formulate business plans and strategies, and develop their businesses more purposefully.

The kick-off event was opened by the Head of the Situbondo Regency Office of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade, Prio Andoko. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of having clear indicators to measure the progress and achievements of MSMEs to ensure they can successfully ‘move up’ to a higher business class.

He noted that MSME development should be directed towards concrete indicators, including business growth, market access, and social protection for entrepreneurs through participation in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (social security).

“MSMEs need clear metrics to see if their businesses are progressing and moving up. In addition to business growth and market access, social protection is also a vital aspect so that MSME entrepreneurs can run their businesses more safely and sustainably,” he stated during the event.

Meanwhile, the Division Head of Corporate Secretary and Communication at PT PII, Rian Ditha Prasetianti, stated that the PIIdaya MSME Situbondo programme is one of the community empowerment programmes that PT PII has been developing since 2021.

“Through PIIdaya, we want to encourage MSME entrepreneurs to possess better business capacity and management, be able to expand market access and networks, and be increasingly ready to grow and move up. Mentoring is crucial so that the capacity gained can be applied to the development of their respective businesses,” said Ditha.

Ditha added that the implementation of the PIIdaya programme in Situbondo aligns with PT PII’s commitment to extending the benefits of infrastructure development to the communities surrounding its projects.

“PT PII provides guarantees for the Probowangi Toll Project as part of the company’s mandate to support infrastructure development. Through our CSR programme, we also encourage the capacity building of communities around the project, particularly MSME players, so they can continue to develop their businesses and capture economic opportunities in the region,” Ditha added.

Rendika Rezky, Director of the Umar Usman Business Campus, also noted in his remarks that the incubation process is not solely about building a business, but first about building the capacity of the individuals running the business.

“Training and mentoring are essential because building personal capacity is far more important before building a business. When the capacity of the entrepreneur grows, the business’s capability will have a much stronger foundation,” said Rendika.

He also emphasised that planning is the fundamental capital in business. According to him, MSME entrepreneurs need the ability to understand their business conditions, determine development directions, formulate strategies, and make decisions based on clear planning.

The kick-off event was also attended by Moh Riza Pahlevi, Head of Micro Business at Situbondo’s Department of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade; Shokhibul Mighfar and Akhlis Munazilin, PIIdaya MSME facilitators; and Nurul Hidayah, the programme’s field coordinator. Also present were Achmad Efendi, Head of the Dompet Dhuafa Banyuwangi Unit, and the 15 participants of the 2026 Situbondo Entrepreneurship Incubation Programme.

Through the 2026 PIIdaya MSME Situbondo Incubation CSR Programme, participants will undergo a series of training, mentoring, and business capacity-building sessions aimed at helping MSMEs understand their business conditions, prepare planning, develop business strategies, and open opportunities for wider market access and networking.
