In anticipation of increased demand from Central Kalimantan residents ahead of Eid al-Fitr, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased LPG supply by 200% from its daily allocation.

The additional supply being distributed amounts to approximately 463 metric tonnes, whilst average LPG consumption in Central Kalimantan is approximately 232 metric tonnes per day.

“With this additional supply, we ensure that the LPG needs of the community are met,” said Sales Branch Manager (SBM) Kalteng IV Gas PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Hadyan Yuhridza, on Monday (16 March).

Hadyan assured that LPG availability in Central Kalimantan remained secure ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration on 1447 Hijriah. He stated that LPG distribution in Central Kalimantan has been running smoothly without disruption from Bulk LPG Filling Stations (SPBE), agents and retailers.

“Alhamdulillah, there are no obstacles to LPG supply distribution in Central Kalimantan. Everything from SPBE, agents to retailers is operating normally,” Hadyan said.

Hadyan also urged the public not to engage in excessive purchases or panic buying, as LPG distribution occurs daily.

“We urge Central Kalimantan residents to remain calm and avoid excessive purchases, as LPG distribution continues daily from SPBE to agents and retailers,” he explained.

Besides ensuring supply, Pertamina also coordinated with local government to maintain LPG price stability in the market. One measure undertaken was conducting market operations in several regencies across Central Kalimantan.

“We communicate with provincial and regency/municipal authorities and have implemented market operations in several areas to maintain LPG price stability,” he noted.

With these various measures in place, Pertamina is optimistic that LPG needs in Central Kalimantan during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr will be adequately met.
