PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is altering the service capacity configuration and adding fuel nozzles for subsidised fuel at 12 petrol stations (SPBU) to handle the surge in fuel demand in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

“We are continuing our follow-up efforts to optimise fuel services for the community in Makassar. One of the steps taken is through adjusting the service capacity configuration and adding subsidised fuel nozzles at 12 petrol stations in Makassar,” said Kitty Andhora, VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

Kitty stated that the configuration adjustment is being carried out by adjusting the refuelling capacity at petrol stations based on field conditions and requirements. This measure is intended to increase service capacity, accelerate the fuel refuelling process, and support the reduction of queues for the public at petrol stations.

According to Kitty, this effort complements a previous step involving the expansion of 25 petrol stations operating 24 hours a day in Makassar. The 24-hour operation was implemented to extend service hours and provide alternatives for the public to obtain fuel.

Kitty also noted that the company continues to evaluate operational conditions in the field and follows up with various necessary adjustments. “We continue to evaluate and follow up based on actual field conditions. The adjustment of capacity configuration and the addition of subsidised fuel nozzles at 12 Makassar petrol stations is one of the steps we are taking to optimise service capacity and support the smooth access of the community to fuel,” said Kitty.

In addition to adjusting capacity configurations and increasing operational hours, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also strengthening the monitoring of fuel stocks and distribution in the Makassar region. Distribution is carried out dynamically, considering the needs of each petrol station, so that distribution can be continuously adjusted to field conditions.

Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures that various follow-up measures will continue to be implemented in accordance with the evolving needs of the community. The optimisation of capacity, operational hours, service, and fuel distribution is part of the company’s efforts to ensure the smooth fulfilment of energy needs in Makassar.

“We also urge the public to purchase fuel according to their needs and to avoid excessive purchasing,” added Kitty.
