PT Pegadaian distributed 1,800 sacrificial meat packages to the public through its Healthy Animal Protein Food Care Programme 2026 in observance of Eid al-Adha 1447 AH. “Alhamdulillah, today we implemented the PT Pegadaian Healthy Animal Protein Food Care Programme 2026 or 1447 AH to commemorate Eid al-Adha. This programme reflects PT Pegadaian’s commitment to providing the best for the people of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Dede Kurniawan, Head of Jakarta 1 Regional Office at PT Pegadaian’s Kebon Nanas branch in East Jakarta on Saturday. The programme forms part of the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and delivering tangible benefits to the community. Additionally, the initiative demonstrates the company’s concern for meeting public food needs, particularly animal protein, while implementing Pegadaian’s sharing values. He stated that Pegadaian consistently runs various social programmes aimed at assisting the public. During this year’s Eid al-Adha, besides slaughtering sacrificial animals contributed by Pegadaian staff, the company also distributed animal protein aid to the public through structured social programmes. Dede noted that in the Jakarta 1 Regional Office area, a total of nine cows and 55 goats were slaughtered for sacrificial purposes. Details show that five regional offices under the Jakarta 1 Regional Office each donated one cow, totalling five. Additionally, three cows came from other participating regional offices. Furthermore, one cow was allocated specifically to Pegadaian’s waste bank partner as support for the company’s affiliated community. All sacrificial animals were distributed as 1,800 meat packages to those in need across Pegadaian’s operational areas. During distribution, Pegadaian partnered with Yayasan Agro to ensure effective and targeted delivery of sacrificial meat. Dede revealed that Pegadaian’s headquarters had previously implemented similar programmes involving sacrificial animal slaughter and meat charity via Yayasan Agro. Some meat distribution coupons from the headquarters’ programme were also allocated to residents around the Jakarta 1 area. “As a state-owned enterprise, PT Pegadaian is obligated to provide beneficial products for the public. When citizens use Pegadaian’s services, the company grows, earns profits, and returns part of the benefits to society through social and environmental responsibility programmes,” Dede explained. Dede added that Pegadaian has a dedicated unit handling Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programmes at both headquarters and regional offices. Through this unit, various social activities are consistently carried out sustainably. The programmes include not only food aid and sacrificial meat, but also the construction and renovation of places of worship, educational assistance, support for partnered communities, and humanitarian aid during natural disasters. Through the Healthy Animal Protein Food Care Programme 2026, Dede hopes the spirit of sharing and social concern during Eid al-Adha will strengthen ties between the company and the community while helping meet nutritional food needs for those in need.
