PT PAL to Launch Philippine Landing Dock at End of June 2026
Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - PT PAL Indonesia is set to launch the first 124-metre Landing Dock (LD) for the Philippines at the end of June 2026. The vessel is the first unit from a contract for two advanced-generation Landing Docks for the Philippine Navy, manufactured entirely at PT PAL’s shipyard in Surabaya. “This project is proof of the continued trust of the international market in Indonesia’s maritime defence industry capabilities,” said PT PAL Indonesia President Director Kaharuddin Djenod in Surabaya on Monday. Kaharuddin stated that the acceleration of the LD Philippines #1 construction reflects the readiness of production facilities, optimisation of supply chain management, and the competence of PT PAL’s human resources in meeting project targets without compromising international quality standards. “A united spirit has been demonstrated by the entire engineering, production, and management team, who have worked hand in hand to ensure this masterpiece of defence equipment can be completed on time and to the required quality,” he said. This achievement is inseparable from the comprehensive transformation undertaken by the company in recent years. Strengthening of financial fundamentals, modernisation of production facilities, acceleration of dock time, and integration of digital systems have driven a shift in work culture towards being more adaptive, collaborative, and productivity-oriented.
