PT Munja Utama targets 70 percent of fire engine coachbuilder market
PT Munja Utama Indonesia (Munja) is targeting a 70 per cent share of the national fire-fighting vehicle body industry within the next five years, up from its current 35 per cent.
CEO of PT Munja Utama Indonesia Robertus B. Berot said the company continues to innovate and expand its market share, both domestically and through exports.
“We continually maintain international standards and improve the competence of our human resources,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
In addition, he continued, certification renewals and investment in testing facilities are priorities so that products continue to meet market needs without sacrificing quality.
The company currently produces a range of special vehicles, including fire trucks, fire ladders, airport crash tenders, fire jeeps, water supply trucks, rescue trucks, water cannons, mobile barrier automatic motorised vehicles, and ambulances.
These products are designed to meet high specifications, including the use of fire-fighting pumps that comply with the qualifications of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Compliance with international standards is evident in the company’s certification portfolio: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016 (compliance), ISO 14001:2015, as well as membership of NFPA 1901.
Going forward, Robertus said, the company is targeting the development of more innovative products and more aggressive market penetration, in line with customer needs and global standards.
“We are exploring cooperation with several countries such as India. Our target next year is to export and serve fire-fighting clients abroad,” he said.
Regarding the company’s performance, the CEO of PT Munja Utama Indonesia received the Pimred Award and the Golden Pen 2026 as recognition for leadership and innovation that have driven business growth and job creation.
“This award marks a milestone for the company to expand its production capabilities and strengthen its position as a world-class fire-fighting vehicle body manufacturer,” said Robertus upon receiving the award from the Indonesian Multimedia Editors-in-Chief Forum (Forum Pimred Multimedia Indonesia).
