PT MPG enhances preparedness through Class D firefighter training
PT Meulaboh Power Generation (MPG) has enhanced employee preparedness for potential fire emergencies through Firefighter Training Class D, held on 11–13 August 2026 at the company’s site in Nagan Raya, Aceh.
The training was attended by 24 employees from various departments, including HSE, Operations, Technical & Maintenance, HR/GA, Procurement/Warehouse, and Finance.
The programme was supported by six instructors comprising practitioners, the Fire Service (Damkar), and the Aceh Provincial Manpower Office.
Firefighter Training Class D is designed for workplace fire officers, equipping participants with basic knowledge and skills to prevent, identify, and handle fires at the initial stage.
During the training, participants received instruction on the fundamentals of fire-related occupational health and safety, the anatomy and causes of fire, fire protection systems, evacuation procedures, and the use of portable fire extinguishers (Apar).
Participants also took part in firefighting drills to improve their ability to respond directly to emergency conditions.
For PT MPG, the training and certification provide benefits for both employees and the company.
Employees gain improved competence and preparedness, while the company has personnel capable of carrying out initial response should a potential fire occur in the work area.
The training also strengthens inter-departmental coordination in dealing with emergencies.
With employees who understand fire handling procedures, initial response can be carried out quickly and accurately before conditions escalate.
The implementation of Firefighter Training Class D is part of PT MPG’s commitment to building a safe and healthy working environment.
By enhancing personnel competence, the company continues to strengthen the implementation of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) and safety culture in the workplace.
