PT Komipo Energy Indonesia, together with the Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation (GNI), has inaugurated the construction of two libraries at SDN Babo and SDN 01 Percontohan in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, as part of efforts to support post-disaster education recovery following flash floods that hit the region in November 2025. The inauguration, which took place on 23 June 2026, embodies a collaboration between the private sector, civil society organisations, and the government to improve literacy access and the quality of education for children in disaster-affected areas. The selection of SDN Babo and SDN 01 Percontohan was based on the condition of both schools, which were impacted by the flash floods. In addition to supporting the reconstruction of educational facilities, the library construction is expected to provide a safe and comfortable learning space that can boost students’ reading interest, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Acting Head of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Education Office, Drs. Sepriyanto, representing the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government. Also present were President Director of PT Komipo Energy Indonesia, Yang Soo Lim; Executive Director of the Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation, Fransisca Sianturi; Head of SDN 01 Percontohan, Nurdi; and Head of SDN Babo, Ahmad. In his remarks, President Director of PT Komipo Energy Indonesia, Yang Soo Lim, stated that education is a crucial foundation for sustainable community development. Through this collaboration, the company hopes to contribute to improving the quality of education while opening wider opportunities for children to learn and achieve a better future. Executive Director of the Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation, Fransisca Sianturi, expressed appreciation for PT Komipo Energy Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the education sector. She noted that cross-sector collaboration is key to delivering sustainable change, particularly for children in disaster-affected areas. The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government also conveyed its appreciation for the construction of the two libraries. The presence of more adequate learning facilities is expected to enhance the quality of the learning process while strengthening the culture of literacy within the school environment. Through this programme, PT Komipo Energy Indonesia and the Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation hope the libraries at SDN Babo and SDN 01 Percontohan will become inspiring and inclusive learning spaces, as well as an example of collaboration capable of delivering tangible impact towards achieving quality and sustainable education.
