PT Kereta Api Indonesia Introduces New Cabin Luggage Regulations for 2026 Lebaran Holiday Travel
PT Kereta Api Indonesia is implementing new cabin passenger regulations for trains during the 2026 Lebaran holiday travel period.
This regulation is particularly important for train passengers intending to bring luggage aboard the train. Feni Novida Saragih, Manager of Public Relations at KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, explained that cabin luggage is subject to the following specifications:
However, baggage exceeding 200 dm³ in volume or measuring approximately 70 cm x 48 cm x 60 cm in dimensions is not permitted in the cabin. As an alternative, passengers are advised to use the freight service.
This regulation is part of KAI’s efforts to maintain cabins that are tidy, safe, and comfortable for all passengers.
Feni reminded passengers to check the size and weight of their baggage before departure. Station staff and on-board personnel will also assist in monitoring and providing information regarding baggage regulations.
Passengers are expected to carry only necessary items and must not bring hazardous, flammable, or disruptive materials.
