Cianjur (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia Daop 2 Bandung has temporarily suspended six Siliwangi train services on the Cipatat-Sukabumi route due to erosion, or gogosan, at the crossing in the Cibeber-Lampegan section, specifically at KM 73+9/0. The Bandung Daop 2 Public Relations Manager, Kuswardojo, stated when contacted on Thursday that the cancellation of Siliwangi train services has been in effect since Wednesday (22/4) evening, with train journeys now only reaching Cibeber Station. The company is deploying all available resources to accelerate the handling process at the affected location, aiming to restore the track to normal and ensure safe train operations. “At present, infrastructure personnel are still carrying out handling and restoration of the track so that train services can resume as soon as possible,” he said. The company is providing ticket cancellations for customers with a 100 percent refund of the ticket fare, excluding booking fees, available 24/7 from the cancelled train’s schedule. KAI Daop 2 Bandung also extends apologies to all affected customers for this cancellation, and the cancellation process can be done via station counters or customer service. “KAI Daop 2 Bandung urges customers to utilise the available official channels to facilitate the cancellation process,” he said. He added that heavy rain on Wednesday night caused the track, which had been eroded a few days earlier, to worsen, resulting in Siliwangi train services between Cipatat and Sukabumi only reaching Cibeber Station and unable to proceed to Sukabumi.
