PT KAI Reveals Progress on Platform 6-8 Construction at Bogor Station
BOGOR, KOMPAS.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is speeding up the construction of platforms 6 to 8 at Bogor Station, West Java, which is targeted for completion in July 2026. Platforms 6, 7, and 8 are known to serve the commuter line (KRL) on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route. ‘Masih on progress pembangunannya,’ said Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager for PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (19/5/2026). He noted that for the physical construction such as the overhead lines, it is nearly finished. ‘Untuk pembangunan fisik, pemasangan tiang listrik aliran atas sudah 80 persen, pembangunan perpanjangan jalur rel dan peron sudah 31 persen,’ he added. At the site, workers continue to work while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, hi-vis vests, and gloves. There are yellow-and-black safety line markings near the line adjacent to Platform 5. In addition, there are two small BEKO-type heavy machinery to assist with platform and track construction at Bogor Station. It is understood that construction work to close Platforms 6 to 8 at Bogor Station is expected to last 90 days. Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, explained that arrangements have been prepared to manage passenger flow entering and exiting Bogor Station. The position of the alternative track is on the right-hand side from the West Gate (Jalan Mayor Oking) towards the platform.
