PT KAI Plans to Build Travelator Connecting Karet and BNI City Stations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), known as PT KAI, plans to build a travelator that will connect Karet Station with BNI City Station as part of the integration plan between the two stations.
“It is definitely a great move. (Regarding the construction preparations for the travelator) 70 days starting from tomorrow,” stated the President Director of PT KAI, Bobby Rasyundari, in Jakarta on Monday.
In a separate instance, the Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, expressed hope that the construction of the travelator facility from Karet Station to BNI City Station can be completed according to the target set by KAI.
“God willing, if it is 70 days, it should be finished,” said Dudy.
“We plan to improve it later so that members of the public using the service can be even more comfortable,” he added.
As information, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, together with KAI Commuter, will begin the integration process between Sudirman Baru/BNI City Station and Karet Station starting 1 September 2026.
This integration is being prepared as part of the service enhancement for the Jabodetabek Commuter Line through the management of passenger flow, strengthening operational safety, and improving access in the areas surrounding the stations.
