Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta states that Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station are still the favourite arrival points during the Lebaran return period, with the number of passengers reaching 15,815 at Gambir alone by Thursday.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Thursday, stated that Pasar Senen Station and Gambir Station have once again become the two main hubs for the return flow. On 26 March 2026, the highest number of arriving passengers was recorded at Pasar Senen Station with 18,203 people, followed by Gambir Station with 15,815 people, and Bekasi Station with 8,477 people.

He noted that overall, the Lebaran return flow in the Jakarta Operations Region 1 area still shows high intensity.

Today until 09:00 WIB, the number of passengers arriving at various stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region reached 52,471 people, far higher than the departure volume of 33,520 passengers.

He explained that the high arrival figures indicate that the wave of people returning to Jakarta and its surroundings has not yet subsided.

During the Lebaran transport period running from 11 March to 1 April 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provided 1,083,674 seats for long-distance train journeys. Up to 26 March 2026, the cumulative number of departing passengers was recorded at 742,715 people.

The tickets sold or booked reached 858,748 tickets, with an average occupancy rate of 79 per cent.

He mentioned that not only long-distance trains, but local train services also recorded high interest, with 73,911 tickets for the KA Pangrango service during the Lebaran transport period already booked, achieving an occupancy of 91 per cent.

On 26 March 2026, the KA Pangrango passenger volume reached 4,082 people, with a cumulative of 59,323 passengers since 11 March 2026. Meanwhile, KA Siliwangi served 2,338 passengers on 26 March 2026, with a cumulative volume of 24,846 passengers up to that date.

Overall, the total tickets sold for long-distance and local train services during the Lebaran transport period reached 943,673 tickets, with an average occupancy rate of 78 per cent from a total capacity of 1,206,610 seats.
