PT KAI Commits to Providing Compensation to Victims of Train Accident in Bekasi
Bekasi (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia is committed to providing compensation to the victims of the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi.
PT KAI Vice President Anne Purba stated that KAI takes full responsibility for healing, insurance, and other necessities to provide support to the victims.
“We will certainly prepare everything. KAI will definitely take responsibility for healing, insurance, and other aspects. We are committed to being accountable for that,” she said during a press conference at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, in the early hours of Tuesday.
Previously, KAI had confirmed that 240 passengers from the Argo Bromo Anggrek train were safe and had been evacuated from the accident site, which also involved a KRL Commuter Line train at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, West Java, on Monday (27/4) night.
“We have evacuated 38 KRL passengers and transported them to the nearest hospitals, including Primaya, RSUD, and two other hospitals around the Bekasi Station,” Anne Purba revealed.
She stated that families of victims who cannot yet be contacted can file complaints at the complaint post at Bekasi Timur Station or through KAI’s call centre at 121.
KAI stated that all efforts are focused on evacuating passengers and crew, as well as handling victims at the incident site, with the primary priority being safety.
