PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) continues to strengthen efforts to empower women, as part of its strategy for inclusive and sustainable human resource development in the Weda Bay industrial zone, North Maluku.

General Manager of Human Resources Development at PT IWIP, Rosalina Sangadji, stated that these efforts are realised through the creation of an equal, safe, and supportive work environment, while also opening wider access for women to enhance their competencies and play active roles in various work lines.

According to her, women’s empowerment goes beyond providing space; it also ensures opportunities that encourage women to develop optimally.

“IWIP believes that women’s empowerment must start from a work environment that provides equal opportunities and support that allows every individual to develop according to their potential,” said Rosalina in her statement on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.

This spirit is reflected in the commemoration of Kartini Day 2026, held on 21 April 2026, with the theme “Empowered Women, Meaningful Communication”. The event serves as a space for reflection and reinforcement of women’s roles in facing the dynamics of the work world and social challenges.

On that occasion, IWIP also featured an interactive talkshow designed to strengthen communication capacity while increasing health awareness as the foundation for a better quality of life. Topics included Women in the Media, Inspirational Talk, and Women’s Health Education.

In one discussion session, the inspirational talk, IWIP’s Employee Engagement Manager, Inggrit Gosal, shared her career experiences in the IWIP work environment.

She conveyed that while working at IWIP, she faced no significant barriers as a woman. Starting her career as a Senior Officer, Inggrit also emphasised the importance of readiness in seizing opportunities.

“Luck is when opportunity meets readiness,” said Inggrit.

This spirit is also reflected in the journey of Rina Rumfot, a housewife and family breadwinner who now works at IWIP. When she first joined IWIP, she worked in an office environment before daring to take the opportunity to switch to field work.

“Through intensive training, I learned to operate heavy equipment until I mastered crane techniques and was declared competent as an operator,” she said.
