PT Gresik Gases builds new plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Gresik Gases Indonesia is developing an industrial gas plant in Gresik, East Java, with a daily production capacity of 1,100 tons of oxygen, the company said yesterday.

The joint venture between Britain's BOC Group and PT Garama Dhananjaya announced that the construction of the plant and its utilities center would require total investment of about US$95 million.

Construction will utilize BOC technology and many local contractors, the company said in a media release.

The plant is scheduled to be on-line at the end of this year to supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon gases to a copper smelter project in Gresik and other developing industries throughout East Java. (gis)
