PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) will become the sole exporter of coal, Crude Palm Oil (CPO), and ferroalloy commodities from Indonesia starting 1 January 2027. These commodities, which include iron and steel products, are Indonesia’s flagship exports, contributing 28.30% to the total non-oil and gas exports, with a total value of US$ 24.82 billion recorded during the January-April 2026 period.

“The total share of these three commodities represents approximately 28.30% of Indonesia’s total non-oil and gas exports from January to April 2026,” stated Pudji Ismartini, Deputy for Methodology and Statistical Information at BPS, during a press conference at the BPS Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6/2026).

According to the latest BPS records, the specific export commodities that will pass exclusively through PT DSI starting 1 January 2027 have experienced fluctuations throughout this year. For coal (HS2701), export values were US$ 1.82 billion in January 2026, dipped slightly to US$ 1.66 billion in February, rose to US$ 2.03 billion in March, and reached US$ 2.07 billion in April.

“From January to April 2026, the largest export destinations for coal were India, China, and Japan,” Pudji added.

Regarding CPO (HS1511), export values reached US$ 2.29 billion in January 2026, US$ 2.40 billion in February, dropped to US$ 1.42 billion in March, and rose to US$ 2.11 billion in April. Meanwhile, for ferroalloy (HS7202), export values were recorded at US$ 1.18 billion in January 2026, US$ 1.18 billion in February, US$ 1.38 billion in March, and US$ 1.41 billion in April.

“The export destinations for palm oil are India, China, and Pakistan, while the destinations for ferroalloy are China, South Korea, and India,” Pudji concluded.
