Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Djarum respects the investigation into an alleged corruption case being conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“We respect the legal process,” PT Djarum Corporate Communications Manager Budi Darmawan said when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi also said that PT Djarum respected the searches conducted by the KPK in Kudus Regency, Central Java.

The case began when the KPK carried out a sting operation within the Customs and Excise Directorate in February 2026 and named several people as suspects.

On 21 July 2026, the KPK announced that the case had been expanded through the issuance of two investigation warrants (sprindik), concerning:

  1. Rizal, head of the West Sumatra Customs and Excise Regional Office;

  2. Sisprian Subiaksono, head of the Customs and Excise Intelligence Subdirectorate;

  3. Orlando Hamonangan, head of Customs and Excise Enforcement Section II;

  4. John Field, owner of Blueray Cargo;

  5. Dedy Kurniawan, Blueray Cargo’s operations manager;

  6. Andri, head of Blueray Cargo’s Import Documentation Team;

  7. Budiman Bayu Prasojo, head of the Customs Excise Intelligence Section;

  8. Gatot Heroe Hernanda, head of the Kediri Customs and Excise Office; and

  9. Ahmad Dedi, a senior functional official at Customs and Excise.

On 28 October 2026, the KPK announced a further expansion of the case with the issuance of one general investigation warrant.

The KPK then searched the Kudus Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) and PT Djarum’s office.

The searches are suspected to be related to state losses in the excise sector.

The KPK is also investigating alleged payments by parties at PT Djarum to officials at Customs and Excise.
