PT DI reorganizes management

BANDUNG: The management of aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) has halved the number of unit heads to 20 and added five more managers as part of a reorganization program.

"The decision is a result of our latest extraordinary shareholder meeting, which asked for a cut in the number of workers," said company spokesman Rakhendi Triatna on Wednesday.

The new structure takes effect on Thursday.

Rakhendi said the new managerial posts were in line with the company's five core businesses.

"We hope the policy will help the company progress, as the new managers have been with the company for a long time," said Rakhendi.

The company dismissed some 6,000 workers last year due to financial difficulties. The industrial dispute that followed the dismissal has not been settled. --Antara
