PT Dahana's First Blast at Buton Quarry Management Marks Strategic Step Towards “Sixty to Infinity”
Buton (ANTARA) - PT Dahana officially carried out the first blast at the Quarry Management project site of PT Bukit Gamping Resources in Buton, Southeast Sulawesi, on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. This moment serves as an important milestone in the commencement of project operations and a symbol of the success of a long journey that began in 2024.
In his report, the Operations Director of PT Dahana, Abdul Haris Atbaro, stated that this first blast is not merely a technical achievement but the result of a lengthy process involving permitting, the issuance of the Mining Business Licence (IUP) for Operations and Production in early 2025, as well as the 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) approved in March.
“This success stems from the perseverance, patience, and commitment of the team. PT Dahana is not only acting as a contractor but as a strategic partner managing an integrated process from land clearing to barging,” Haris revealed.
The President Director of PT Dahana, Hary Irmawan, conveyed that this project is a pioneer in the company’s new business line, namely Quarry Management.
“This is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen upstream capabilities and more solid supply chain integration, in line with PT Dahana’s business transformation, to enhance operational efficiency and create sustainable added value,” Hary stated.
A Commissioner of PT Dahana, Wildan Widarman, emphasised the importance of applying good mining practices, occupational safety, and sustainable mining governance to ensure long-term success.
From the partner’s side, the President Director of PT Bukit Gamping Resources, Heru Hendarto, expressed appreciation for the performance of the PT Dahana team.
“We appreciate the professionalism and dedication of the PT Dahana team, which has demonstrated its best performance from the preparation stage to the execution of today’s first blast. This forms a strong foundation for the project’s future success,” he said.
In line with the momentum of PT Dahana’s 60th Anniversary carrying the theme “Sixty to Infinity”, the implementation of this first blast represents the company’s commitment to innovation and the development of an integrated limestone industrial ecosystem.
