PT BEST Commences Construction of $10 Million AC and Washing Machine Factory in Tangerang
JAKARTA, CNBC INDONESIA — PT Berkat Elektrik Sejati Tangguh (PT BEST), the national company behind the BESTLIFE home electronics brand, has officially commenced construction of an air conditioner and washing machine production facility through a Ground Breaking Ceremony at the Millennium Industrial Estate in Tangerang.
The $10 million investment represents a strategic move by PT BEST to expand national manufacturing capacity and bolster the domestic electronics industry amid rising domestic demand and growth in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector.
In the first phase, PT BEST will develop a production facility on approximately 1.5 hectares of land, focusing on manufacturing AC units and washing machines with modern quality standards and integrated manufacturing efficiency.
The entire investment comes from PT BEST as a PMDN (Domestic Investment) company, demonstrating the national firm’s commitment to strengthening domestic industry and reducing dependence on imported products.
PT BEST Director Andy Arif Widjaja stated that the production facility is part of the company’s long-term strategy to build a strong, sustainable industrial foundation capable of competing at both national and regional levels.
“We see Indonesia as having immense potential as a base for electronics industry growth. Through this investment, PT BEST aims to make tangible contributions—not just through products, but also through technology development, human resource enhancement, and the national industrial ecosystem,” Widjaja said in a statement on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Beyond increasing production capacity, PT BEST’s industrial zone will also develop into a technology and industrial competence hub, including:
An R&D Centre for product development and technological innovation,
A Training Centre for technicians and professional workforce development,
An Integrated Competency Testing Centre (TUK) linked with the Professional Certification Body (LSP) to support quality improvement of national industrial human resources.
This initiative aligns with PT BEST’s vision of building an industry focused not only on production but also on enhancing workforce quality and strengthening national industrial competitiveness.
Under the theme “Building Indonesia Together”, PT BEST affirmed its commitment to grow alongside the government, communities, workers, and business partners to foster sustainable economic growth and reinforce Indonesia’s position as a regional industrial powerhouse.
As part of the event series, PT BEST held an appreciation and networking evening with national dealers and business partners, while introducing its new brand, AUXINDO, which will be part of PT BEST’s expansion strategy in Indonesia’s electronics industry.
The activities also showcased PT BEST’s ongoing expansion through strengthened distribution networks, enhanced after-sales services, and product development tailored to Indonesian market needs.
PT BEST expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, local governments, business partners, contractors, suppliers, dealers, and all parties supporting the commencement of the production facility.
With this factory construction, PT BEST is confident in strengthening its position as a trusted, innovative national company with a long-term commitment to advancing Indonesia’s electronics industry.
