PT BEST Builds Rp 160 Billion AC and Washing Machine Factory in Tangerang
PT Berkat Elektrik Sejati Tangguh (PT BEST) has started constructing an air conditioning (AC) and washing machine production facility at Millennium Industrial Estate in Tangerang. The total investment for the project amounts to approximately Rp 160 billion, equivalent to $10 million.
Establishing the production facility is part of the company’s strategy to expand domestic home electronics manufacturing capacity amid growing domestic market demand and national manufacturing industry growth.
In the initial phase, the factory will be built on a 1.5-hectare site and will focus on producing AC units and washing machines.
PT BEST Director Andy Arif Widjaja stated that the investment forms part of the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen the national electronics industry. ‘We see Indonesia has significant potential as a growth base for the electronics industry. Through this investment, PT BEST aims to deliver tangible contributions—not just through products, but also through technology development, human resources, and the national industrial ecosystem,’ he said.
All investment for the factory construction comes from domestic capital (PMDN). The company views this as a move to bolster domestic industry and reduce reliance on imported home electronics.
Beyond production facilities, PT BEST’s industrial area is planned to develop into a technology and industry competency hub. This includes research and development (R&D) centres, workforce training facilities, and competency testing centres integrated with professional certification bodies.
The company expects these developments to enhance the quality of the national electronics industry’s human resources.
PT BEST has also introduced a new brand, AUXINDO, as part of its business expansion strategy in the home electronics sector.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the factory was attended by DPR RI Commission VI member Darmadi Durianto, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and national electronics industry players.
The company hopes the production facility will strengthen the competitiveness of the national electronics industry while supporting economic growth and employment in the manufacturing sector.
