Jakarta (ANTARA) - The corporate defendant, PT Acset Indonusa, will face a hearing for the reading of the indictment related to the alleged corruption case in the construction of the elevated Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) Japek II Toll Road section from Cikunir to West Karawang, at the Corruption Court within the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday.

“The agenda for the defendant PT Acset is the reading of the indictment,” stated the spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, Andi Saputra, to reporters.

In this case, PT Acset Indonusa is accused of receiving money amounting to Rp179.99 billion through a joint operation (KSO) with Waskita Acset, together with the convicted individuals related to the case, namely Dono Parwoto, Djoko Dwijono, Yudhi Mahyudin, Toni Sihite, and Sofiah Balfas.

The money is alleged to have been received in the construction work (design and build) of the Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated Toll Road from Cikunir to West Karawang (Stationing/STA 9+500 to STA 47+500).

As a result of the actions enriching a corporation, PT Acset is suspected of causing harm to state finances totalling Rp510.08 billion in this case.

In detail, the state losses include Rp347.79 billion due to shortages in the volume of concrete structure work, Rp19.54 billion due to deficiencies in the quality of concrete slabs, and Rp142.75 billion due to shortages in the volume of steel box girder work or steel box beams.

These losses are in accordance with the Audit Report on the Calculation of State Financial Losses regarding the alleged criminal act of corruption in the Construction Work (Design and Build) of the Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated Toll Road from Cikunir to West Karawang (STA 9+500 to STA 47+500), including the On/Off Ramps at the Cikunir and West Karawang Interchange.

For its actions, PT Acset is charged with violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law No. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.
