PSSI gets training aid from FIFA

JAKARTA (JP): The Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has been invited to join a US$1 million FIFA-sponsored program called "FIFA Goal Project" to develop soccer in the country.

PSSI secretary-general Tri Goestoro said on Wednesday that it would ask soccer clubs across the nation to join the program to improve their coaches' training skills.

He said PSSI had yet to send a proposal about the training programs, which is expected to be completed in January.

"If the clubs have no competent coaches, FIFA will help by sending coach instructors," he was quoted by Antara as saying.

Tri said he would meet clubs which were participating in the Indonesian League to discuss their needs. (ivy)
