PSSI bids adieu to Kolev

JAKARTA: The Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has
decided not to extend the contract with national team coach Ivan
Venko Kolev.

Director of the national team M. Zein announced the parting of
ways with the Bulgarian here on Thursday.

Kolev, who signed a two-year contract, guided the national
team to the Asian Cup finals but the team failed to survive the
group stage.

"We thank Kolev for his stint with the national team for the
last two years," Zein said.

The team will be now be coached by the Under-20 coach Peter
Withe assisted by Eddy Paryono, Sudarno and Fachry Husaini. Andi
Darussalam Tabusalla will still be the team manager. -- JP
