PSM Makassar Fans Barred from Attending Match Against Malut United in Ternate
Local Organising Committee (LOC) for Liga 1 2025/2026 has officially banned PSM Makassar supporters from attending the Gelora Kie Raha Stadium in Ternate ahead of the crucial fixture against Malut United FC scheduled for Saturday, 7 March 2026. LOC chairman Abdul Mauridz Tuguis emphasised that the decision aligns with the strict regulations governing Indonesia’s top-flight competition and is intended to safeguard security and uphold a conducive atmosphere in North Maluku. The ban on away supporters, known as Juku Eja, was not made unilaterally. Mauridz explained that the policy rests on three main points: ‘We, as the match committee, state that visiting team supporters are not allowed to attend the stadium to directly support their team. The decision is part of efforts to ensure smooth match operations and foster a sporting spirit.’ Malut United management has been in intensive talks with PSM Makassar; both sides hope the opposing club can educate their supporter communities to refrain from attending. The LOC also warned of serious consequences if the rule is breached. Under the PSSI Disciplinary Code, violations by away supporters can lead to fines or other administrative sanctions for the club involved. ‘Coordinating with the club is crucial so this information can be conveyed to all supporter communities. We hope this advisory will be obeyed for the common good,’ Mauridz added. The Malut United vs PSM Makassar match is expected to attract strong local interest. Gelora Kie Raha Stadium is expected to be filled by home supporters, the Laskar Kie Raha, as the league schedule continues in the week.
