Jakarta – The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has affirmed its commitment to regularly conducting assistance programmes for orphans and the poor. Vice Chair of the DPP PSI, Isyana Bagoes Oka, made the statement during a charitable event held to commemorate the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah. “What we are doing here is not merely a routine, but rather how we at PSI wish to continuously share blessings and happiness, especially with orphans and the underprivileged,” she said on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Isyana, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development and Deputy Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), described the activity as a form of care and an effort to share joy with orphans and the poor. “We all know that 1 Muharram is often referred to as the orphans’ Lebaran, and today is the moment when PSI wants to share happiness by providing assistance to orphans and the underprivileged,” Isyana stated. Meanwhile, the event’s organising chair, Danik Eka Rahmaningtyas, explained that the DPP PSI provided assistance to 100 children. They came from the Putra and Putri Al-Hayya Orphanage in Depok, a fostered community in Tapos, and the Nurul Hikmah Islamic Study Group in East Bekasi. “Their backgrounds include being orphans, fatherless, motherless, or both, and those from the fostered community are classified as dhuafa. This is a DPP PSI programme, and seeing 1 Muharram as the orphans’ Lebaran, we hope to continue this regularly for them,” Danik said. In addition to the distribution of aid, the event featured a religious sermon delivered by Ustaz Takwa. The attending children also participated in a question-and-answer session with DPP PSI officials, sharing their aspirations and hopes for the future.
