PSIS draw 1-1 with Makassar

SEMARANG, Central Java (JP): Defending champions PSIS Semarang could only draw 1-1 with PSM Makassar in the first round of the sixth Indonesian Soccer League (Ligina) at Jatidiri stadium here on Sunday.

PSM's striker Yoseph Lewono created the first goal for his team in the 9th minute of the first half, but PSIS's striker Supriyono equalized in the 45th minute.

In the second half, PSM were forced to play with nine players after referee Budiyono handed out red cards to Yoseph after he had insulted him and his teammate, Jusrifar Jafar, for attacking a PSIS player, Ridwan.

Separately in Surakarta, hosts Pelita Solo beat Persipura Jayapura 1-0 under a heavy downpour at Mahan stadium. Pelita Solo's goal was scored off the head of M. Bako in the 26th minute.(har)
