PSIM Jogja Defeats Madura United 2-1

PSIM Jogja achieved success in securing a victory at home. The Laskar Mataram team managed to defeat their visiting opponent, Madura United, with a score of 2-1.

The victory in week 33 puts PSIM in 11th place with 45 points. Meanwhile, this poor result keeps Madura United stuck in 15th place with 32 points.

This defeat means that Laskar Sapee Kerap is not yet safe from relegation. However, Madura United still has a chance to survive if they can win their final match.

The week 33 Super League 2025/2026 match took place at the Sultan Agung (SSA) Stadium in Bantul on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The home team, who dominated the game, took a two-goal lead in the first half through goals from Ezequiel Vidal in the 18th minute and M Iqbal in the 35th minute.

PSIM continued to play solidly at the start of the second half. Another chance came through a shot from M Iqbal, but it was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

Madura, who needed a win, tried to play more aggressively. In the 49th minute, an opportunity arose for the visiting team. However, the attack built by Sandro Nimo from the right side was still secured by PSIM goalkeeper, Cahya Supriyadi.

In the 53rd minute, PSIM managed to score against Madura. However, the goal scored by Ze Valente was disallowed because Riyatno Abiyoso was in an offside position.

In the 61st minute, it was Madura’s turn to threaten PSIM’s goal through a solo run by Ruxi. However, his powerful left-footed shot was still saved by goalkeeper Cahya Supriyadi.

Madura’s efforts to reduce the score finally came to fruition in the 62nd minute. Escaping the offside trap, Madura striker Junior Brandao managed to score against PSIM. The score changed to 1-2.

The goal scored by Madura made the match more exciting. Both teams played aggressively to add to their goals.

In the 75th minute, Madura again threatened PSIM’s goal. However, the opportunity through Jody Wehrmann was still thwarted by PSIM’s defense. In the 79th minute, a brilliant save was made by Madura goalkeeper Diky Indriyana after thwarting a close-range shot from M Iqbal.

A few minutes later, Madura launched a quick attack towards PSIM’s goal. Fortunately, PSIM defender Raka Cahyana was still able to block a shot from Madura substitute player, Aji Kusuma.

In the 85th minute, PSIM had to play with 10 players after Donny Warmerdam received a red card.
