JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) supports President Prabowo Subianto’s steps to implement savings or efficiency measures amid an uncertain geopolitical situation.

“The geopolitical situation is not fine at the moment. Therefore, we certainly support efforts to enhance efficiency so that the most crucial services are prioritised,” stated PSI Deputy Board of Trustees member Grace Natalie during a press briefing following the Easter Celebration at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

According to Grace, matters deemed inefficient should indeed be subject to savings.

“What is inefficient must indeed undergo savings to become more efficient,” she added.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic erupted several years ago, PSI has undertaken various measures to cut party costs.

“For us, particularly since Covid, hybrid meetings have always been an option. Using digital tools to then minimise energy consumption, for example,” said Grace.

Prabowo mentioned that Pakistan has implemented various saving policies, from ministerial salary cuts to restrictions on the use of official vehicles.

This was conveyed by Prabowo while leading the Full Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, on Friday (13/3/2026).

These regulations are still being adapted by regional governments, with some yet to implement them or still modifying the implementation dates.

Meanwhile, the proposal for ministerial salary cuts is still being deliberated by the government.
