PSI Secretary General Requests 200% Increase in Banten DPRD Seats to Minimum 9 by 2029

Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has requested the PSI leadership in Banten to increase legislative seats in the 2029 elections. The target increase is set at 200% from the current number of seats in the Banten Provincial DPRD. PSI secured 3 seats in the Banten DPRD in the 2024 elections. Raja Juli has asked that these 3 seats be raised to 9 seats in the 2029 elections. “Yes, I think we’ve already received directions from the Governor earlier, that in the last election PSI increased by 200% from one seat to three seats. Well, for 2029, it must increase by 200% again, meaning a minimum of 9 seats, insyaallah,” he said during the PSI Banten Halal Bihalal in Serang on Sunday (19/4/2026). In addition to the provincial DPRD, Raja Juli has requested that PSI Banten contribute seats to the DPR RI in the 2029 elections. The target assigned to PSI Banten is a minimum of 3 seats for the DPR RI. “Oh, that’s definitely the case. And insyaallah, Banten will contribute three seats,” he said. Meanwhile, Ian Pribadi, Chairman of the PSI Banten Advisory Board, stated that currently, PSI members hold legislative seats in Banten across 3 areas, namely South Tangerang, Tangerang City, and the Banten DPRD. So, PSI Banten currently only has seats in the Greater Tangerang area, specifically in Tangerang City and South Tangerang, as well as three in the province of Banten. “Of course, moving forward, insyaallah, we will pursue that with our big targets,” he said. It is known that in the 2024 elections, PSI obtained 4 seats in the Tangerang City DPRD, 4 seats in the South Tangerang DPRD, and 3 seats in the Banten DPRD. “We ask for prayers so that PSI Banten can become bigger through the consolidation activities we carry out. Of course, those targets will surely be met for our structure in legislative areas, both at the district, city, and up to the DPR RI levels,” he said.
