PSI prepares 'Roadmap' to tour Indonesia with Jokowi

Jakarta – The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) is preparing a roadmap to tour Indonesia with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the seventh President of Indonesia. PSI Deputy Chair Bestari Barus said the party plans a nationwide safari with Jokowi as part of PSI. ‘Pak Jokowi is part of PSI. We are preparing the roadmap,’ Bestari said when contacted on Tuesday (19 May 2026).

During the safari, PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep will also emphasise that Jokowi is part of the elephant-logo party. ‘Would he walk alone, Pak Jokowi? He wants to run for president again and cannot. So, he will simply walk to help PSI succeed,’ he added.

Previously, Bestari Barus had also revealed that Jokowi has become part of PSI and has been designated as a political patron of the elephant-branded party. Bestari said the signs of Jokowi’s involvement were actually conveyed directly by the former Solo mayor at PSI’s Rakernas in Makassar in January 2026. ‘He has said, ’I am still strong enough to travel to the regencies and cities, even if needed down to the districts’,’ he asserted on 14 May 2026.
