PSI on Jokowi's Blusukan: He Would Be Ill If He Didn't Meet the People

The seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is said to become healthier when he engages in activities by meeting the public, known as blusukan. This was stated by Ahmad Ali, Acting Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), who said he would coordinate with Projo volunteers regarding Jokowi’s plan to tour around Indonesia. ‘The problem is, Mr Jokowi, if he does not meet the public, does not meet people, he would get sick, that is the problem. So by going around it will make him, he becomes healthier,’ Ali said, quoted from detikJateng, Thursday (21/5). He also conveyed that Jokowi’s health is good, so health concerns are not considered a hindrance. ‘His spirit is even stronger. So health factors are no longer a hindrance, but we cannot ignore the age factor and that he has just recovered; this must be carefully considered in planning those visits,’ he said. However, regarding the timing of Jokowi’s tour with PSI, Ali did not answer clearly. He only ensured that PSI cadres would welcome Jokowi when he comes down to greet the people. ‘He is a former president for ten years, naturally there is a strong longing for the people that underpins his decision to tour and greet the public,’ Ali said.
