The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has conveyed profound condolences over the passing of Try Sutrisno, the sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. PSI General Secretary Raja Juli Antoni assessed that Indonesia has lost an exemplary figure.

“Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. The entire leadership and extended family of the Indonesian Solidarity Party express deep condolences over the passing of General (Ret.) Try Sutrisno of the Indonesian Armed Forces. We have lost a role model,” said PSI General Secretary Raja Juli Antoni to journalists on Monday (2 March 2026).

Try Sutrisno was known as a person who dedicated his life to the nation, both through his service in the Indonesian Armed Forces and in fulfilling his mandate as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, Indonesia will feel the absence of a figure known for his firmness.

“He was known as a humble yet resolute figure, and possessed an unwavering commitment to national unity,” Raja continued.

He assessed that Try Sutrisno’s work ethic and integrity will always serve as inspiration to all people in continuing the nation’s journey. Raja Juli also offered prayers for the late Try Sutrisno and his surviving family.

“We pray that the deceased achieved a good death, is forgiven all his shortcomings, his deeds are accepted, and he receives the finest place beside Allah Almighty. To the family left behind, may they be granted patience and strength,” he said.

Try Sutrisno passed away at RSPAD Gatot Subroto hospital at the age of 90. He died at 06:58 WIB today. His body will be taken to his residence on Purwakarta Street, Menteng, Central Jakarta, and will then be buried at the National Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Kalibata in South Jakarta.
