PSI Kalsel Cadres Urge Kaesang to Appoint Jokowi as Chairman of the Advisory Board

Hundreds of Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) cadres gathered for a Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorwil) and the inauguration of the PSI Regional Executive Board (DPW) for South Kalimantan and district/city boards (DPD) across the province. The event, held at the Grand Qin Hotel in Banjarbaru on Tuesday (7/7), was attended directly by the General Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board (DPP), Kaesang Pangarep. During the occasion, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the PSI DPW for South Kalimantan, Mustohir Arifin, conveyed the aspirations of all cadres in the region. He openly asked Kaesang to immediately inaugurate the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as the Chairman of the PSI DPP Advisory Board. ‘Mas Ketum, we, the entire board of DPW, DPD, and all PSI cadres across South Kalimantan, agree to request that Mr. H. Ir. Joko Widodo be immediately inaugurated as Chairman of the PSI DPP Advisory Board. Agreed, yes,’ Mustohir stated before the cadres. Responding to the request, Kaesang Pangarep gave a diplomatic answer. He revealed that internal administrative processes are currently still underway, including the inauguration of other senior figures such as Rusdi Masse Mappasessu. ‘I have not even inaugurated Mr. Rusdi Masse yet, but I am already being asked about him. God willing, even without being inaugurated, he has already been working with PSI recently,’ Kaesang said. Kaesang also gave a positive signal to cadres in South Kalimantan. He promised to bring Jokowi to the ‘Land of Lambung Mangkurat’ to provide a direct morale boost to cadres and the community in preparation for the 2029 General Election. ‘God willing, he will come to provide spirit and new strength for all of you here,’ he added. Besides serving as a forum for conveying aspirations, the Rakorwil focused on strengthening the organisational structure. Kaesang officially inaugurated Mustohir Arifin as Chairman of the PSI DPW for South Kalimantan and Aulia Rachman as Secretary of the DPW. The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by senior officials of the PSI DPP, including Deputy Secretary General Andi Saiful Haq and General Treasurer Fenty Noverita. The agenda then continued with a briefing on winning strategies to prepare the party machinery for the political contestation in 2029.
