PSI Jabar: Respect Constitutional Court Ruling, Keep Indonesia Stable
Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI) West Java has called on all parties to respect the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling concerning Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The party’s chapter believes the court’s decision should be accepted as part of the democratic and constitutional process.
Iwan Koswara, deputy chair of the PSI West Java regional board, said the Constitutional Court ruling was part of a legal process that should be respected by all. He expressed hope that the ongoing polemic would not drag on and drain the energy of the public.
“The Constitutional Court ruling is already in place. Let us respect it together. We must not keep getting caught up in polemics that only exhaust our energy on less productive matters,” said Iwan, on Thursday (8/10/26).
Iwan, who is also a member of Commission V of the West Java Provincial Parliament, said that differing views were natural in a democracy. He noted that the public had the right to express opinions and criticism, but warned that such differences should not develop into issues that could disrupt national unity.
According to Iwan, Indonesia still faces many tasks requiring shared attention, including improving public welfare, education, healthcare and equitable development across regions.
He therefore urged all elements of the nation to focus on more substantive issues that deliver direct benefits to the public.
“Above all, let us continue to keep Indonesia stable. We have a lot of shared work to do to make the people more prosperous and Indonesia ever more prosperous,” he said.
Iwan said a safe and conducive atmosphere was an important asset for the government and the public in carrying out development. Such stability, he added, must also be maintained through mutual respect, including in responding to differences in political choices and views.
He hoped the public would no longer become entangled in prolonged debate following a decision by an authoritative institution. In his view, all parties should consider the greater interest of safeguarding national unity and Indonesia’s future.
“Let us respect the legal process that has been underway. After that, we can all look ahead and work for Indonesia. We want Indonesia to remain united, stable and ever more prosperous,” said Iwan.
