PSI Deputy Chairman Bro Ron Counter-Reported Over Alleged Assault
The alleged perpetrator of the assault has counter-reported Ronald A. Sinaga, known as Bro Ron and Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), to the Menteng Police Station.
The report was filed by Muhammad Rizal Berhet and registered under number LP/B/34/V/2026/SPKT at the Metro Menteng Police Station, dated 4 May 2026.
“It is true that the alleged perpetrator of the assault has counter-reported. The counter-report to the Menteng Police Station concerns assault,” said Head of Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jakarta Central Police Resort, AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, when contacted on Wednesday (6/5).
Separately, Rizal, the reporter, stated that he counter-reported Ronald over the alleged criminal act of assault as regulated under Article 466 of the Criminal Code.
“It is true that I counter-reported the individual. The report concerns punching and shoving accompanied by inappropriate insults,” he said.
Rizal claimed that in the incident, Ronald was the one who struck first. He also stated that Ronald uttered racist remarks.
“It is true (Ronald struck first), he punched my stomach hitting my solar plexus. Yes, it is true (the reported party uttered racist remarks),” he said.
Previously, Bro Ron was the victim of an assault in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (4/5).
Ronald explained that the incident occurred while he was accompanying a colleague in an audience with the leadership of the Michael Putra and Partners (MPP) firm over the alleged embezzlement of Rp9 billion from PT SKS.
According to Ronald, his colleague, an employee of the company, was demanding the funds from the MPP firm leadership as the fund managers.
“Wages and company funds that disappeared without explanation. The company funds were managed by the MPP leadership,” he said on Tuesday (5/5).
Ronald stated that initially, his colleague along with several other employees held a protest at the MPP office. Then, around 6:00 p.m. WIB, three individuals claiming to be security personnel asked them to leave the building.
“There was an argument between these three individuals, the SKS employees, and myself. But in the end, these three individuals were repelled by members of the Menteng Police Station who were already present at the location,” he said.
Not long after, he continued, the three security personnel returned and became involved in another argument. And, he added, a severe assault occurred that caused his head to bleed.
“15 minutes later, these 3 individuals went back up to the 4th floor (location of the MPP office), and suddenly the argument started again. The argument lasted about 10 seconds after they appeared from the stairs, then the assault occurred as in the video,” he said.
Menteng Metro Police Chief AKBP Braiel Arnold Rondonuwu stated that Ronald, as the victim, has filed a police report and has been taken for a medical examination. In addition, the victim and witnesses have been questioned.
“Two alleged perpetrators have been secured at the police station for further processing,” Braiel told reporters.
