The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has provided clarification regarding the activities of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who has recently been actively visiting various regions. PSI Deputy Chairperson Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka asserted that these agendas are purely to fulfil invitations from the public, not a form of political campaigning. The statement was delivered by Isyana at the PSI Central Executive Board office in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/6/2026), following an event providing assistance to 100 orphans in commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharam. “This is not actually a political safari. It is more about, as Mr Jokowi has conveyed, fulfilling a number of invitations from the community, including activities within the Indonesian Solidarity Party,” Isyana said. According to Isyana, the intensity of Jokowi’s recent public appearances is supported by his recovered health condition. The former Mayor of Solo is now fit enough to interact directly with citizens who have missed his presence. “Mr Jokowi, as has been stated, is now healthy and able to once again fulfil invitations from the entire community,” she added. Although Jokowi is often associated with PSI, Isyana was still reluctant to disclose details regarding the former president’s official position within the rose-logoed party. When asked when an official announcement would be made, she gave only a brief response. “We’ll just wait,” she said diplomatically. Beyond the issue concerning Jokowi, Isyana explained that PSI is currently concentrating fully on strengthening the organisation. This step is being taken as thorough preparation for the administrative verification and factual verification stages scheduled for 2027. “Currently, PSI is focused on forming its structure. That is the current focus,” she concluded. Visits by national figures to the regions often spark political speculation, but PSI has assured that Jokowi’s closeness with the people remains the top priority in all his activities after his presidential term ended.
