PSI Chairman Says Jokowi Laughed When Discussing JK's Request to Show Diplomas
“Yes, we discussed politics earlier, including thin diplomas and other matters. So, I think this is it: today, several issues have emerged in public regarding statements from Mr Jusuf Kalla, who said it’s easy—just show your diploma, Mr Jokowi,” he said when met in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, as reported by detikJateng on Monday (13/4/2026). He admitted to laughing with Jokowi when discussing showing the diploma as desired by the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia. Ahmad Ali instead challenged Jusuf Kalla back to display his diploma and marriage certificate before the public. “Well, both of us laughed earlier, even almost bursting out. Now, if Mr JK wants to show his diploma, or his marriage certificate to the public, or other documents that he says are easy to pull from the cupboard, please do so. Feel free to show them,” he stated. However, he asked Jusuf Kalla not to impose his thinking as a uniform standard for Jokowi. He mentioned that Jokowi has his own stance on showing his diploma. “But it’s best not to then uniform his thinking as a public standard like that. Mr Jokowi has the stance that if the court asks, I will show it. But besides that, it’s his private right,” he concluded. Previously, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) assessed that Jokowi’s diploma case has dragged on for too long. He said the case now also harms Jokowi and triggers divisions in the midst of society.
