Jakarta – Ahmad Ali, the daily chairman of the Solidarity Indonesia Party (PSI), responded to Islamic scholars and pesantren students in Klender, East Jakarta, who prayed for PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep to become President at some point in the future.

Ali emphasised that President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka currently hold the positions of President and Vice President, leaving no place for Kaesang.

“We have a President, Mr Prabowo, today. We have our Vice President, Mr Gibran. So where would Mr Kaesang be placed?” said Ali in Klender, East Jakarta, on Friday evening (27 February 2026).

He stressed that there would be a time to discuss such matters.

“Not yet. Later, later it will come,” he added.

Previously, Kaesang Pangarep continued the 2026 Ramadan Outreach by visiting a pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in Klender, East Jakarta, on Friday (27 February 2026).

According to observations, Kaesang arrived at the Az-Ziyadah pesantren just before iftar (breaking of the fast).

Pesantren students and PSI cadres welcomed the arrival of the son of Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) from the pesantren gates.

Whilst waiting for iftar, Kaesang and PSI senior officials sat and prayed together with the pesantren students.

Present were Ahmad Ali, PSI daily chairman, Raja Juli Antoni, PSI secretary general, Isyana Bagoes Oka, PSI board of supervisors member, and Rusdi Masse, a former National Democrat (Nasdem) member who recently joined PSI.

The leader of Az-Ziyadah pesantren, KH Muhajir Zayadi, then prayed for Kaesang to become a successful person in the future.

“Kaesang is young, he is confident, he is strong, so he will become a successful person,” said Muhajir.

According to Muhajir, Kaesang is a young figure who will become a leader in the future.

He and the pesantren students prayed that Kaesang would be able to become President at some point in the future.

“And he is also super young, a young leader today, a leader who will come. Hopefully he will become President,” added Muhajir.

“Amen,” responded the students.
