PSI Begins Preparing Political Machinery to Face 2029 Election

Jakarta (ANTARA) - General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep stated that his party has begun preparing its political machinery to face the 2029 General Election, including by strengthening its organisational structure down to the grassroots level. “If possible, by the end of this year, everything should be completed down to the village level so that in 2029 we can just get ready for the ‘battle’,” said Kaesang during the PSI Regional Leadership Council Coordination event in Jakarta on Sunday. Kaesang also reminded all levels of PSI officials and cadres not to forget preparations for the political party verification in 2027. “But don’t forget, before we’re ready for the ‘battle’ in 2029, in 2027 we prepare first for verification,” he said. Furthermore, Kaesang explained that the formation of party structures down to the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) level has reached 74 percent or 5,372 units at the sub-district level. According to him, the existence of a complete party structure down to the village level is key to strengthening PSI’s readiness in facing upcoming political contests. “For me, this is a very, very good achievement, because when I first led this party, everything was still empty, even many DPDs were still vacant, but alhamdulillah now we already have representation at the sub-district level and there are more than 5,000,” said Kaesang. He added that the PSI Central Leadership Council (DPP) will continue to assist regional officials in accelerating the formation of structures down to the village level to meet the set targets. With this organisational strengthening, PSI is optimistic about increasing the party’s readiness and competitiveness in facing the upcoming election.
